Destiny is a 5th year Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Neurobiology & Behavior at the University of California, Irvine. As part of the Translational Neuroscience Lab and the Sleep, Cognitive Aging, and Neurodegeneration Lab, she studies the intersection of aging, sleep, and Alzheimer’s disease. Her research aims to identify micro- and macro- level features of sleep expression in middle-aged to older adults that can reliably discern pathological aging versus healthy aging. Her work features a collection of neuroimaging approaches, sleep-dependent memory tasks, and clinical polysomnography.
The Virtual Seminar Series is a resource to support career development by providing opportunities for trainees and early career investigators to deliver professional talks to an audience of peers and colleagues through online seminars. Our goal is to provide a resource for Sleep Research Society members at all levels of training to get continued exposure to new and exciting sleep and circadian research methods and findings.
