A Letter From the Editor-in-Chief

I am excited to announce publication of the first Trainee Journal Club article in the March issue of SLEEP, entitled “Sleep duration and cognition: Is there an ideal amount?”, co-authored by Janna Mantua, PhD and Guido Simonelli, MD. Journal Club articles, written by SRS trainees, are short reviews and commentaries on a paper recently published in SLEEP. The goal of this new article type is to promote trainee involvement with and ownership of the Society’s journal, while providing an opportunity for trainees to author or co-author a peer-reviewed publication in the journal. Janna Mantua, PhD will be the editor for this manuscript type.

I encourage all of you to promote this new offering for SRS trainee members to your network and look forward to providing more excellent trainee contributions in future SLEEP issues.
