Experienced NIH and VA reviewers are encouraged to share their reviewer skills with junior colleagues through the SRS Early Career Investigator (ECI) Reviewer Training program!
This exciting new program aims to prepare junior faculty to be active and effective reviewers for NIH or other grant-awarding institutions. In addition to developing a pool of trained Early Career Investigators (ECIs) to review applications, we also hope to improve their grant-writing skills and disseminate information on the NIH peer-review process to strengthen their applications. This competitive, application-based program will consist of three videoconference meetings and one in-person meeting. As a faculty member, you would participate in:
- lectures and discussions of NIH/other applications
- the peer review process
- study sections
- writing and critiquing grant reviews
- mock study sections
The SRS is seeking 6-8 SRS members with a history of independent grant funding and significant grant review experience to serve as faculty for this important initiative.
