Introducing Diego R. Mazzotti, Ph.D., the current Chair of the Sleep Research Network: 

A leader in biomedical informatics, sleep medicine, and population health, Dr. Mazzotti is shaping the future of healthcare through innovative research. 

Highlights of his work: 

  • Assistant Professor and Interim Division Director in Medical Informatics at the University of Kansas Medical Center. 
  •  Research Focus: 
    • Advancing data-driven approaches to understand and treat sleep disorders. 
    • Integrating sleep data with health records to improve outcomes for obstructive sleep apnea. 
    • Developing predictive models for cardiovascular risk using sleep biomarkers. 
    • Investigating the genetic basis of sleep disorders. 
  • Innovative Methods: Machine learning, electronic health records, data harmonization, causal inference, and clinical decision support tools to transform clinical practice.
