SLEEP 2025 Research Abstract Video Contest
Part of the Trainee Symposia Series
Contest Overview:
Create a 60-second video summarizing your accepted research abstract for the SLEEP 2025 Conference.
Your goal is to make your research engaging and accessible to a general audience while maintaining scientific accuracy.
Deadline: May 2, 2025
Guidelines:
- Audience: General public (avoid jargon or overly technical language).
- Length: 60 seconds or less.
- Content:
- Briefly explain the problem your research addresses.
- Summarize key findings in a clear and simple way.
- End with a takeaway or why your research matters.
- Restrictions:
- Do not mention brand names or specific commercial products.
- If you have music in your video, you must own the rights or use music available on the public domain.
- Keep visuals and language appropriate for a broad audience.
- Submission:
- Complete the Video Contest Entry Form.
- Upload your video in MP4 format, and include a brief transcript of your spoken content.
- Note: If you have any issues with the file upload, please submit the form with your abstract details, and then email coordinator@srsnet.org for an alternative file upload link.
- Submissions must be abstracts accepted for presentation and/or poster presentation at SLEEP 2025.
Evaluation Criteria:
- Accuracy: Research is presented correctly without misinformation.
- Delivery: Clear, engaging, and well-paced speech.
- Follows Guidelines: Meets time, format, and restriction requirements.
- Appropriate for Audience: Content is accessible and engaging for the general public.
All videos will be assessed with the above criteria by the SRS TEAC Committee and finalists will be uploaded to the SRS Official YouTube channel. After a voting period, number of votes will determine “fan favorites.” Select finalists and fan favorites will be featured during Trainee Symposia Saturday and on the SRS social channels. Winners receive a certificate (and, of course, bragging rights!).
