Description
The overnight Sleep (Polysomnographic) Technologist performs diagnostic sleep procedures for patients as ordered by a physician, and in accordance with established protocols, standards, and practices. Work is PRN during weeknights with occasional weekend and/or day work. Work is performed at the residential site.

Job Tasks:
- Sets-up and maintains sleep laboratory with supplies and keeps equipment in clean operating condition.
- Prepares patients for sleep studies.
- Performs, observes, and evaluates overnight polysomnograms.
- Duties during the day will include interfacing with clinic staff to ensure all documentation is being done for patients coming into the lab, educating patients, families, and staff on the importance of sleep in recovery after a brain injury.
- Assists with sleep related research initiatives.
- Implements programs with the clinic therapists to help patients increase independence in their own sleep treatment compliance.
Requirements:
- Successful completion of an American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) accepted educational program leading to an Associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography. OR Successful completion of a polysomnography program of no less than one year duration associated with a state licensed and /or nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities required.
- Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) required.
- Current registration as an EEG Technician through the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) preferred.
- Current healthcare provider BLS certification required, and CPR card preferred but not required.
- 3-5 years prior polysomnography experience required.
